📄Terms of use

The agreement between you and us, in plain language.

Last updated 17 Sept 2026

These terms govern your use of netsalary.app and everything on it. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the site. They are written to be read, not to be impenetrable; where a clause matters to you in practice, it says so.

1. What this service is

NetSalaryApp estimates take-home pay after income tax and social contributions across 18 countries, and provides related tools: an invoice generator, a cashflow and net-worth tracker, an AI salary advisor, a job board and a developer API.

The calculators are free to use and need no account. Some tools require one, and some are paid.

2. It is an estimate, not tax advice

This is the most important clause on the page. Nothing on netsalary.app is tax, legal, financial or immigration advice, and no client relationship is created by using it. Before you act on a number here — accepting an offer, moving country, choosing a company form — confirm it with a qualified professional or the relevant tax authority.

Concretely, a result can differ from your real payslip because:

  • Payroll depends on facts the calculator does not ask for: tax cards and codes, mid-year employment changes, previous income in the same year, church tax, regional and municipal variation, union dues, pension opt-outs and benefits in kind.
  • Rates change. We date every country’s figures and state which year they are legislated for — see the 2027 tracker — but a budget can move a threshold after we publish.
  • Some systems are genuinely approximated. Where a country varies by municipality or canton we apply a representative rate and say so on the page.
  • The AI advisor generates text statistically and can be confidently wrong. Treat it as a starting point for questions, never as an authority.

We work hard on accuracy and correct errors quickly when they are reported — see how the figures are maintained — but we do not warrant that any figure is correct or current, and we accept no liability for decisions taken on the basis of one.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. Give accurate registration details, do not share your account, and tell us if you think it has been compromised. You can delete your account at any time from the account page. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms.

4. Paid plans, guides, listings and API

  • Subscriptions renew automatically for the period you chose until you cancel. Cancel any time from the billing portal; access continues to the end of the period already paid for, and we do not pro-rate part months.
  • Guides are one-off purchases of digital content, delivered immediately.
  • Job listings are one-off purchases for a fixed display period. We may decline or remove a listing that is discriminatory, misleading, or not a genuine vacancy, and will refund it if we do.
  • API access is subject to the plan’s rate limits. Do not attempt to bypass them.

Prices are shown inclusive of any tax that applies to you at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe.

Withdrawal and refunds. If you are a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. For digital content delivered immediately, that right ends once delivery begins and you have agreed to it — which is what you confirm at checkout for guides. Outside that, if a paid feature does not do what this site says it does, write to the contact form and we will sort it out.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, bulk-download or systematically harvest the site. There is an API for programmatic access, and it exists precisely so you do not have to.
  • Attempt to break, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to any part of it.
  • Republish the tax data as a competing dataset or calculator.
  • Post anything unlawful, discriminatory or deceptive to the job board.
  • Use the AI advisor to generate unlawful content or to attempt to extract its prompts.

6. Intellectual property

The site, its design, its written content and the tax engine are owned by NetSalaryApp and protected by copyright. You may read, print and share pages for your own use, and quote short extracts with attribution and a link. You may not copy the content wholesale or reuse it commercially without written permission.

Tax rates and legal thresholds are facts and nobody owns them. Our expression of them, and the engine that applies them, are ours.

Content you submit — a job listing, a company logo — stays yours. By submitting it you grant us the licence needed to display and promote it on the site.

7. Third-party content and links

The job board includes vacancies published by employers and by third-party applicant tracking systems. We do not verify every listing and we are not a party to your dealings with an employer. Outbound links to tax authorities and other sites are provided for reference; we are not responsible for their content.

8. Liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or loss arising from reliance on a calculation. Where liability cannot be excluded it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months, or €100.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

9. Availability and changes

We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and features may be added, changed or withdrawn. If we materially change these terms the date at the top of the page changes; continuing to use the site after that is acceptance. For a change that materially reduces what a paid plan provides, we will give notice and you may cancel.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Latvia, where the site is operated from, and disputes go to its courts. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence and may bring proceedings there. The EU online dispute resolution platform is at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
